The most famous adventure activities in Poland

Poland is getting more and more famous every year. Its medieval towns, rich history, low prices, amazing food and alcohol and also the affordable accommodations are attracting many tourists to Poland. Other than this, Wieliczka Salt Mine and Auschwitz Concentration camp are known in the world. There are many other adventure activities in Poland that can attract many tourists.

However, there are some magnificent places which are not well known – like the trails in the pristine Tatra Mountains. Expect from the famous Morskie Oko Lake trail (which is the least attractive), the other trails very easily attract foreigners. They are just like paradise – filled with crystal clear lakes and surrounded by snowy peaks of the rocky Tatra Mountains.

Best trails in the Polish Tatra Mountains

It is very obvious that hiking in Polish Tatras is getting more and more famous day by day. During the summer time, hundreds of tourists flock to the town of Zakopane in order to spend some time admiring the spectacular peaks and turquoise mountainous lakes.

Trail to RYSY – the highest peak in Poland

Although Rysy is the highest peak in Poland, it’s not that difficult to climb it to the top. This hiking is quite tiring and steep; nevertheless its nowhere near as difficult as some other trails in the Tatras – like, for example, the trail to Zawrat via Dolina Gasienicowa which is my favorite in the whole Tatras.

Adventure activities in Poland

Trail to Dolina Gasienicowa, Zawrat and Swinica Peak

Many tourists coming to southern Poland and Krakow region end up in Zakopane – the little town located at the foot of the Tatra Mountains. Some hike and others take a horse cart ride up the easy and quite boring trail to the most famous landmark in Polish mountains – Morskie Oko Lake which is undoubtedly picturesque and beautiful, but so overcrowded that it can get really irritating.

Auschwitz Concentration Camp Poland

Auschwitz Concentration Camp in Southern Poland has recently became one of the most visited tourist attraction in the Krakow region. It is a nice place to visit with greenery all around the mountains.

Crouches in Tatra Mountains

Europe is greatly diverse continent – most of it has the 4 distinct seasons and is visited by the tourists either in summer when the weather is great or winter – for skiing. Autumn colors are also beautiful and attract those who like nature and hiking trails. In March and April the winter snow is gone – leaving behind the grey, nearly black and white world, the weather isn’t too great either and in the south it’s still not hot enough to enjoy the beach.

Zakopane – must visit the Winter Capital

Zakopane which is also known as the winter capital of Poland due to the abundance of ski resorts in the region is becoming a popular tourist destination among many tourists these days. Probably the reason behind this is because it’s so close to the most famous attraction in Poland – the medieval city of Krakow.

Dolina Pieciu Stawow

This route to the most famous tourist attraction in the Tatra Mountains region – Morskie Oko Lake may be the most famous and the easiest, but the most spectacular views and real alpine, mountainous scenery are available to those who decide to hike the trail to Dolina Pieciu Stawow and onwards.

Adventure activities in Poland

Wieliczka Poland

It is the world’s most famous salt mine located just 15 kilometers south of Krakow – the most visited ancient Polish city – it is also one of the most popular attractions in the region. Founded in the 13th century, it was in operation until as late as 2007. Visitors can admire innumerable absolutely stunning, carved out using only man power shafts, corridors and chambers that have been lavishly decorated by tremendous talented artists.

Cracow Poland – the city of medieval charm

Cracow, due to its location, went through enormously difficult times in both ancient and recent history. It is squeezed between the Europe’s most powerful empires, it suffered invasions, raids and pillages from all directions, and still it stands the best for all the travelers.

Beskid Sadecki Poland

Beskid Sadecki, in Malopolskie Province, is a remote mountain range with rolling hills covered with vast swathes of primeval forest. It stretches down south through Slovakian border which can be crossed while hiking.

Morskie Oko and Czanry Staw Lakes

As we have already read, Zakopane is the winter capital of Poland and also one of the country’s most popular resort towns in the summer. Due to the proximity of Krakow, the ancient Polish capital, which is after schengen agreement, suddenly became the most popular tourist attraction.

Adventure activities in Poland
